Bill Maher Suggests Kids Are Becoming LGBTQ Because It's "Hip" On 'Real Time'

Bill Maher suggests that children are turning to LGBTQ simply because the topic is "hip" in HBO's "Real Time." Bill Maher suggested that LGBTQ kids were becoming more open-minded as it was "hip" on HBO.

The HBO host Bill Maher addressed a sensitive topic last night during Real Time. He suggested that the rising popularity of the LGBTQ community may be due to its trendy nature.

Maher pointed out that there has been an increase in LGBTQ self-identifications according to a Gallup poll. People are free to question this and ask "What is the deal?"

It wasn't so long ago that adults would ask a child what they wanted to do when they grew up.He said, "," "They meant which profession."

The ACLU recently found that the abortion debate affects LGBTQ couples more than it does heterosexual couples. Maher acknowledged that it is important to respect and protect others but he said: "Someone has to tell it, not everything's your fault." Asking questions is okay about anything new. The trend to put young children on hormone blocking drugs and the way Sweden is ending it was brought up by him.

Maher said, "We are literally testing children." He added that while we do not know the long-term consequences of this, "logic tells us there will be problems." He cited bone density, fertility and other concerns as examples. He said, "It is not a lifestyle choice."

Maher spoke about the Grand Marshalls of the Pride Parade in New York. None of them are gay men. "That's right where we're at now, gay men aren't hip enough to participate in a Gay Pride Parade. He said, "Gay, practically, is CIS. CIS is practically Mormon."

Then he went on to argue that polls show a rise of the LGBTQ community partly because it is trendy. He said, "Teens know that 'The Prime Directive" is anything to shock or challenge the squares who raised you." This is why no one gets a nosering after 56.

Maher criticized parents for giving in to hormone blocking and genital surgical requests. He also said that it was better to not have children involved in the culture wars. He noted that if you're a man who is open to living life with no balls at all, then you're able to get married.

Maher stated, 'Never forget that children are impressionable, and very, very dumb.' "A boy thinking he is a girl may be gay, or whatever Frezier was," Maher said. He also noted that "being a girl does not mean that you must act like a Kardashian." He said that he could be a girl if you feel sad.

Maher stated, 'I get that transgender people are different. It's inborn. "But children do go through phases. Children are flexible about all things. They can be fluid about everything if they are able to identify their dream career at 8 years old. "I always wanted to become a pirate," he said. I am thankful that no one booked me for surgery on the eye and leg.
