Why is it taking so long to renew? We don't know the exact reason for why it took so long to renew, but previous renewals can be a good source of information.
Salary negotiations will likely be less with large ensemble casts like Outer Banks. We saw significant salary negotiations after season 2 for various shows such as 13 Reasons why and Never have I Ever.
Chase Stokes stated in an interview that he felt hopeful, but was unsure if there would be a renewal.
"We have such an amazing team of writers so it's up to them that the story will be figured out. He said that every script we receive is just too much. "I'm excited to finally get it, and I hope Netflix will give us the go ahead," he stated in December 2021. Still waiting patiently, we are still trying to find out when or if it will happen. We are still in uncertainty. We want it because the fans are there. But we will wait to see if it happens.
Netflix Season 3: What can you expect from Outer Banks?
Let's recap season 2 of Outer Banks, and how it will lead to season 3.
Pope wants to retrieve the stolen golden cross, so the war between the Pogues and Camerons will continue.
Pope tells them that they are not finished fleeing from the vessel and seek safety on an abandoned remote island. Their family reported them missing so they decide to remain on the island. However, it is likely that they will not stay there for long.
Pope is likely to continue learning about his family's connections with the Cross of Santo Domingo.
Ward Cameron, who notably faked his suicide in season 2, is trying to survive off the radar. Ward Cameron is likely to continue playing a crucial role in the conflict, despite a couple of run-ins with John B, which saw him spare his life. But will he ever be caught?
Season 3 will be the most interesting season. It is unclear how or why Big John has returned. Although he seems to claim that he knew where Denmark's Cross was, a doctor diagnosed him as being 'half-dead. How will this have an impact on his future? We will have to see.
Was there anything the cast or crew has teased about a third season of The Walking Dead? Here is a list:
Josh Pate spoke out about Big John to EW.
John B is going to have to come to terms with his father's death. John B will need to find a way to live with both his imagined version and the truth of his deceased dad. This gives us lots of father-son themes to work with.
Shannon Burke, Josh Pate and Jonas Pate have all said the Pogues may be down but they are not out. This suggests that they will soon return to the search for gold.
Madelyn Cline stated to ET about the season 3 romance. She said that they'd like to find out more about their relationship.
"It would be great to have them get to know one another in season 3 if they get it. Although they are married, they don't really know much about one another. It would be great fun. Both of them have been through quite a bit together.
EliteDaily was teased by Chase Stokes that Season 3 would feature a "vibe shift". He said that writers like to keep them on their toes and that it creates performances that are encapsulating the present. "I don't know what's happening beyond what was shot in Barbados," Chase Stokes said to EliteDaily. He also added that "I believe a lot more loose ends will be tied up." There will be many questions answered. These kids will be put to the test, as usual.

At the moment, there is no release date on Netflix for Outer Banks Season 3.
This is despite the rumors that the device would be released in December 2022 (this has not been confirmed).
We can speculate on the future based upon previous seasons' production schedules.
The second season of Outer Banks aired between August 2020 and March 2021. It was released at the end July 2021. What number of seasons will there be on the Outer Banks?
Outer Banks may be one of Netflix’s most beloved shows but it doesn’t guarantee that the series will continue indefinitely.
One of the producers said that we might be near the end. Entertainment Weekly spoke with Pate:
"Ever since the beginning, we have always considered it to be a 4-season or 5-season series, but certainly four. It's been pretty well-arced. It's my hope that one day we will be able to tell these stories.
Jonas Pate spoke to Decider about the future of the series shortly after its season 2 premiere. This is the number. It's definitely more than three.
Additional Outer Banks Latest Since Season 2
You may have seen that Madelyn and Chase Stokes had been in a relationship, but it seems that things have gone sour.
Alyssa Scheinmel, author of Lights Out: Outer Banks Book Lights Out is a great book for fans who are looking to learn more about the series. This book is just prior to season 1.
The book has the following contents:
"It's Spring Break in the Outer Banks and there are many rich tourists on the Outer Banks. The last thing JJ and John B want to do is spend their week watching Kooks in action, so they plan a fishing getaway to the notoriously dangerous Frying Pan Shoals—nicknamed 'Graveyard of the Atlantic' for good reason.'
