Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania Funko Pops Show MODOK'S MCU DesignAn Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania Funko Pops collection features its heroes and villains including MODOK, who will be making his MCU debut.
Marvel Studios is now done with its 2022 slate. But 2023 seems to be a bigger year for Marvel Studios. All this begins with Ant Man and The Wasp - Quantumania. This Paul Rudd-starring hero epic has significant implications for the future development of the MCU. Funko now has their first Pop Wave for the movie that might just have allowed fans to see M.O.D.O.K., an iconic MCU villain.
The wave begins with Ant-Man, Wasp and new figures. The Funkos offer Marvel fans a great look at their updated costumes. Although they look essentially the same as the last time we saw them in Avengers Endgame, Ant-Man has a much darker costume that bounces off red and silver well. Wasp's suit and mask are brighter than her muted original AntMan and Wasp. Her comic-book counterpart is more accurately portrayed by the brighter appearance. Wasp also comes with an unmask Chase version that showcases the character's short haircut. This variant is more comic-accurate.
The villains are however the most interesting part of the wave. First up is Quantumania’s principal antagonist Kang the Conqueror. The character's green and purple suit is highlighted by the Pop. Kang's scars are also visible without the helmet. Kang is portrayed in a very intimidating pose. This is because he will be an opponent in Phase 5. Kang the Conqueror is finally in the MCU. While Kang's friendly variant was featured in Loki, and got his Pop, The last character in the line is the official first look at M.O.D.O.K.'s inclusion in the MCU. M.O.D.O.K. has not been featured in any images, trailers or marketing for the film. However, it was revealed at San Diego Comic Con that M.O.D.O.K was seen as a villain in Quantumania. Pop-style villain design is quite intimidating. The Marvel villain looks like a huge head sitting in a floating chair, as in all previous iterations. The combination of the gold armor and the scarily red eyes, as well as the teeth-filled smile will bring a few chills down your spine. Along with Ant-Man, the character is also available in Pop keychain format.
Ant Man and the Wasp Quantumania hits theaters February 17, 2023. Ant-Man, along with his crew are accidentally reduced to Quantum where they will only be able escape through Kang. You can order Quantumania the new Pop line from Funko while we wait for the trailer.
