Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rising Again: All We Know So Far.
On the 22nd of December 2006, Shawn Levy (Free Guy), introduced viewers to the surreal, hilarious, and surprising educational world that is Night @ the Museum. The story of Larry Daley ( Ben Stiller), an inventor who is struggling to make ends meet, and he takes up a position as night guard at New York's Museum of Natural History. Larry discovers that all museum exhibits are possible thanks to an ancient Egyptian tablet. He forms friendships with historical figures such as the adventurous President Teddy Roosevelt ( Robin Williams), Sacajawea, the Native American guide ( Mizuo Peck), or educated Pharoah Ahkmenrah .
It was an enormous box-office success. The movie earned nearly five times the estimated $110,000,000 US budget. So it was not surprising that a sequel was in development. The sequel Battle of the Smithsonian(2009) took Larry and his companions to the campus. There, they met Amelia Earhart, an ace pilot, as well as Kahmunrah, Ahkmenrah, an evil brother who plotted to take over the world using the tablet. The third installment of the trilogy ended with night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb (2014). This took Larry and his friends to Great Britain, where they gave a touching ending.
Although Secret of the Tomb appeared to be the end of the franchise's existence, the Walt Disney Company seems to want it to remain one of the intellectual assets that they acquired from 20th Century Studios. Later this year audiences can return to the magic version of Natural History Museum with Night At the Museum: Kahmunrah Rising Again (2022), an animated continuation that follows Larry's son, who assumes the role of night guard.
This unconventional sequel will be released surprisingly quickly, so get ready to meet Rexy (this time animated in cartoon form). Here's everything we know about Night At the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises.
The trailer has not yet been released for the film, however it is likely that this will change in the near future. Night At the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises is just a month away.
We did however get our first glimpse of the film through a screenshot. The image shows off Larry's son Nick Daley, now being played by Joshua Bassett (High School Musical: The Musical: The Series) who is taking over for the role of Jake Cherry (The Sorcerer's Apprentice) who played Nick in the first two films and Skyler Gisondo (Licorice Pizza) who played him in the third. Nick, now a grown man, is wearing the Night Guard costume like his father. This image features familiar faces such as Rexy the Tyrannosaurus Rex-like skeleton and Easter Island Head ( Kelemete Misipeka), both of whom are displayed in animated 2D form.

The Night At the Museum series has a tradition of listing the entire plot in its title. The official synopsis of Kamunrah Rises Yet continues this trend.
Nick Daley is hesitant about becoming a museum nightwatchman, and Kahmunrah wants to rule the world.
According to the title, the evil Kahmunrah is the antagonist of Battle of the Smithsonian. However, he will be represented by Joseph Kamal The Fly Attendant instead of Hank Azaria The birdcage. Nick, now a grown man, sounds less interested in the role of night guard as his father. He may be looking for a new direction and a different life. This is not too dissimilar to the situation Larry was in when he started his career at the museum. This is Nick's story. However, Larry will be there in the movie, but this time Zachary Levi, ( Tangled), taking over from Ben Stiller.
Shawn Levy, the original director of Trilogy 2, will continue to be involved in the production as a producer. Levy has expressed his admiration for the project's ability to stay true to the original, while also offering something completely new. He stated that it is "somehow its very own thing but very, very loyal the legacy of the characters in that title." Also joining Levy as producers are Michael Barnathan (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone), Emily Morris (Stranger Things), and Mark Radcliffe (The Christmas Chronicles).
Also, a part of the crew is experienced animation director Matt Danner (The Looney Tunes Show), Fairly OddParents (2001-2017) writers Ray DeLaurentis and William Schifrin and original Night at the Museum scribe Milan Trenc, and composer John Paesano (Daredevil).
Fans of the original trilogy might be disappointed to learn that none of the main cast members from the three previous films will be back to portray their characters. However, cameos are still possible. The current cast is nothing to laugh at.
As we mentioned, Joshua Bassett will be competing against Joseph Kamal to voice Nick. Nick's parents, Zachary Levi, will play the role of former franchise face Larry Daley. Gillian Jacobs will portray Erica, while Invincible will act as Nick's mom, Erica. As for other recasting for the denizens of the Museum, we have Thomas Lennon (17 Again) as President Teddy Roosevelt, Steve Zahn (The White Lotus) as miniature cowboy Jebediah, Jack Whitehall (Jungle Cruise) as miniature Roman legionnaire Octavius, Kieran Sequoia (iZombie) as historic guide Sacagawea, Alexander Salamat (Elementary) as the friendly conqueror Attila the Hun, and Kelemete Misipeka (Ray Donovan) as the Easter Island Head. Jamie Demetriou and Cruella will be part of the cast.
The rest of the cast is rounded out by Akmal Saleh (100% Wolf), Alice Isaaz (The Gilded Cage), Shelby Simmons (Stargirl), Lidia Porto (Get Shorty), Tenzing Norgay Trainor (Abominable), Bowen Yang (Isn't It Romantic), Chris Parnell (Rick and Morty), Christie Bahna (Imaginary Friend), Zeeko Zaki (Allegiant), Jonathan Roumie (The Chosen), and Dee Bradley Baker (Star Wars: The Clone Wars).
