Josh Pate and Jonas Pate created Outer Banks. This story follows teens in North Carolina's Outer Banks, which has a sharp and clear divide. There are two types of people: the wealthy, seasonal residents (or Kooks), and the working-class locals known as the Pogues. The Pogue teens, who reside in The Cut neighborhood, are the focus of the story. They are sent on an adventure to search for John B, the group leader. They discover an ancient pirate treasure which could have something to do with the disappearance. The Pogues are able to fight the Kooks and law enforcement with only their friendship and determination. They also deal with drug abuse and money and dealings with the helplessness that comes from being American teens.

In July 2021, the second season of this action-adventure drama for teens ended with a dramatic cliffhanger. Fans are left wondering what might happen next. Season 2 ended with an emotional finale that revealed John B's dad. We all still have many questions. A new season can answer those questions.

We can expect to see Chase Stokes as John B Routledge, Madelyn Cline as Sarah Cameron, Madison Bailey as Kiara 'Kie' Carrera, Jonathan Daviss as Pope Heyward, Rudy Pankow as JJ Maybank, Charles Harford as Big John, and Charles Esten as Ward Cameron, all return to their roles in the third installment of Outer Banks.

What are the major characters in Outer Banks Season 3:

This is a brief look at the most important and prominent characters from Outer Banks, who may be making an appearance in the third season.

John B Routledge, or John B, is the main character in the story. The ringleader for the Pogue teenagers who are trying to locate their missing father is he. Since season 1, he has been with Sarah Cameron (a wealthy Kook). After Sarah and John are both presumed dead, they return to Outer Banks to reunite with their friends. They also attempt to get rid of the Limbrey family, but it is too late. John is now on the hunt for Cross of Santo Domingo with his friends.

John is in love with Sarah Cameron. Although she is from a prominent Kook family, she left it behind after learning that her brother and father have blood on them. By virtue of John's friendship and her closeness to her, she becomes an official Pogue.

John is best friends with Kiara Carrera, or Kie. Although technically Kie is Kook, she is actually a Pogue by heart. She is extremely loyal to her friends and family, which is something her family doesn't like. In Season 2, Kie and Sarah form a close friendship while Kie manages the on-and-off romance with Pope.

JJ Maybank, John B's friend and true Pogue, is JJ Maybank. He is also an incessant troublemaker due to his father, who was abusive and alcoholic. JJ attempts to make John and Sarah feel better before they embark on the search for Cross of Santo Domingo.

Pope Heyward is the genius and brain behind the group. A young, intelligent and cautious Pogue with a crush on Kiara. As the team begins to hunt for the Cross of Santo Domingo, his love life takes a back seat. He is the true heir to the treasure due to his connection to Denmark Tanny (a legendary Black plantation owner and former slave cook) who is also a local hero.

Other than the Pogue Gang, other characters such as Ward Cameron, Rafe Cameron and Carla Limbrey could return to their stories.

What Time Is Outer Banks 3 Filming?

The filming of the third season started in February 2022, and was completed the next September.

What's the Outer Banks Season 3 Release Date?

The main storyline of Outer Banks and the previous seasons show that the action takes place in the current day along the North Carolina coast. Although the story has roots in distant history, the series is rooted in the present. We hope that there will not be any back-and forth in the next season's timeline. Outer Banks Season 3 is expected to follow the linear format. The story will continue in the current period.

How is Outer Banks Season 3?

John B. and Sarah, together with their Pogue pals, have been out on a treasure hunt since the start of the series. This gang has had a rollercoaster ride with the Cameron-Dad and Carla Limbrey, who are both murderous. The second season of Outer Banks sees the children hunt down the Cross of Santo Domingo, and eventually acquire it. It was then lost to the Camerons. They escape death by jumping ship (we literally mean it), and end up on an abandoned island.

A significant storyline was revealed in the second season about John B's dad, who met Carla and promised to find the Shroud of Turin for her. However, he must first help his son. The finale of Outer Banks Season 2 raised many questions and doubts. We are hopeful that all of that will be resolved by the third and new season.

We should expect to see the Pogues return home, but it is possible that they will not abandon the treasures they have found. John could also be reunited with his father during the search for the Shroud of Turin.

We can expect more romance between Pope and Kie on the opposite side. It's a teenage drama, and romance is a must. The real treasure, perhaps, was all the drama that we experienced along the way.
