Dwayne John Confirms Black Adam will Not Continue under New DCUDwayneJohn has stated that no Black Adam movies will continue under the new head James Gunn or Peter Safran.
Fans of DC Universe have had an emotionally charged few weeks. A mass shakeup is underway, marking a new start for the comic-book studio after James Gunn's and Peter Safran’s principal appointments at DC Studios. This new chapter brings an end to one of the greatest legacy in the universe. After fifteen years of struggle, Dwayne John finally got his antiheroic, Black Adam, a screen. But, sadly, that will be the last time we see of Teth Adam (or for long). A statement was released by the Hollywood superstar updating his fans about Khandaq’s fate.
Johnson said, "My passionate friends. I wanted to give a long-awaited Black Adam Update regarding the character’s future in DC Universe." James Gunn and me connected and Black Adam won't be the first chapter in their storytelling. Johnson assured that there was still open discussion about the fate of his beloved character. He explained that DC and Seven Bucks had agreed to explore the best ways Black Adam could be used in future DC multiverse chapters. He said that James' and DC leaders had made the right decision. They were expressing their vision for DU using their creativity.
Johnson took the time to enjoy the achievement of Teth Adam being told. Johnson wrote, "After fifteen years of tireless hard work to finally create Black Adam,". I will forever be grateful for the fans' reaction to Black Adam. It was a moment of immense humility, love and gratitude. We did great."
This news is coming after Henry Cavill 's Man of Steel2 fans said farewell to Henry Cavill , even though he made a surprising mid-credits appearance in Johnson's Black Adam just weeks before. DC Chief Gunn said instead that he was still working on the story about a younger Kal-El. Rumours circulated that Jason Momoa may not be returning to the role of Aquaman, which fueled speculations about a recasting of the DC Universe. Gunn responded to one fan's tweet and put an end to all the speculations. I keep coming across posts that support this false theory. He wrote that we are not casting everyone but The Suicide Squad. While things look uncertain for the DCU now, Gunn and Safran remain committed to their characters so it will be interesting how the whole thing turns out.
The trailer shows Dwayne as Black Adam.
